Identification

USI
Have your Unique Student Identifier ready and make sure your enrolment details match your ID. A valid USI is needed for nationally recognised certification unless an exemption applies. Create your USI here.

Hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection and a high-visibility vest. Use a laptop or desktop with a working camera, microphone and stable internet connection. Phones and tablets are not suitable.
Certification
After successful completion, you receive your Statement of Attainment, which can be used for 60 days while SafeWork NSW processes your White Card.
Language and support
A good level of English is required for our virtual courses. If you don’t meet language requirements, please book a face-to-face course instead. Contact us before booking if you need help assessing suitability or learning support.

Who needs a White Card in NSW?
A White Card is the general construction induction card used by people carrying out construction work. It is relevant to labourers, apprentices, tradespeople and other people who need to enter operational construction areas for their work.
You do not need previous construction experience to take this course. General induction training gives you a foundation in site safety; your employer may also require site-specific induction and training for particular tasks.
What does the NSW White Card course cover?
The course covers CPCWHS1001 – Prepare to work safely in the construction industry. Learn to recognise common construction hazards, understand safety responsibilities, use PPE correctly and follow workplace emergency procedures.
Your trainer guides you through learning activities and assessments during the live session. You must participate and demonstrate the required knowledge and practical skills to successfully complete the course.
NSW eligibility, identification and USI
You must be aged 14 or older and physically located in NSW during this virtual course. Prepare the required identity documents before training and make sure the details on your booking match your ID.
NSW generally uses a 100-point ID check, with special arrangements for eligible applicants. Read the ID FAQ and contact us before the session if you are unsure. Have your USI ready for your nationally recognised training documents.
Live Zoom training, course fee and session times
The course fee starts at $125. Choose an available session in the calendar and check its current price and start and finish times. Current sessions run from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm.
The course is taught live on Zoom and cannot be completed at your own pace. Set aside the full scheduled session, keep your camera on and take part throughout. Your confirmation email includes joining instructions and your Zoom link. View course dates.
Your training documents and NSW White Card Online
After successful completion, you receive your Statement of Attainment. The Statement of Training provides evidence of completion for 60 days while your physical White Card is processed.
We submit the card application to SafeWork NSW. Keep your postal details correct. Read the official NSW card application guidance for delivery and digital-card information.
Does a NSW White Card expire?
A White Card generally has no printed expiry date. However, in NSW it becomes void if you have not carried out construction work for two consecutive years or more.

Already have a White Card from another state?
A valid construction induction card issued in another Australian state or territory can be used in NSW. You may not need to repeat the full course just because you have moved interstate.
Check that your existing card is valid and ask the relevant regulator if you have been away from construction work for a long time. If you are applying for your first card through this online NSW course, you must be in NSW for the training.
Your equipment and training-day checklist
Have all four PPE items ready: a hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection and a high-visibility vest. You will use them for the practical components.
Use a laptop or desktop with a working camera and microphone, Zoom and a stable internet connection. Phones and tablets are not suitable. Check your ID, read your joining instructions and test your equipment beforehand. Review all course requirements.
White Card NSW Online - Frequently Asked Questions
How old do I need to be and where can I join from?
You must be at least 14 years old and physically located in NSW for the online session. You also need to meet the identification, English, computer and PPE requirements. Check these before choosing your date.
What identification do I need for the 100-point check?
Have your original identity documents ready. Together, they must show your photograph, date of birth, signature and current residential address. NSW generally requires 100 points of ID.
Common examples include:
- 70 points: an Australian birth certificate, Australian citizenship certificate or an Australian or international passport. Only one primary document can be counted.
- 40 points: a current Australian driver’s licence or eligible government photo card.
- 25 points: a Medicare card, eligible bank card or recent utility bill. Up to two bank cards or statements can count if they are from different institutions.
Special arrangements may apply to eligible secondary school students, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants and overseas visitors who arrived less than six weeks ago. These arrangements still require approved evidence; they are not an exemption from proving your identity.

What PPE and computer equipment do I need?
There are some important requirements you must meet to attend the NSW White Card via Virtual Delivery:

Valid Identification
You must have sufficient ID, as outlined in the ID section of our FAQs. Your ID will be checked during the session. -
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
You must have your own PPE, including:-

This is mandatory. If you do not have the required PPE, you will not be able to attend or complete the course.

Suitable Computer Equipment
You must use a laptop or desktop computer with a working camera and microphone.
This course cannot be completed on a mobile phone or iPad/tablet.

How is the online White Card course delivered?
The course is delivered live through Zoom with a trainer. This is not a self-paced or pre-recorded course. Your booking confirmation includes your Zoom link, setup instructions and preparation requirements.
Join from a suitable location in NSW, keep your camera on and participate in discussions, practical activities and assessments throughout the session. Your trainer explains the course content, answers questions and assesses the required skills and knowledge.
Can I complete the NSW course entirely online?
Yes. Eligible students can complete the live training and assessment via Zoom while physically located in NSW. You must meet the age, ID, English, PPE and computer requirements, attend the full scheduled session and successfully complete the assessments.
How long does the course take and what does it cost?
The White Card online course in NSW costs $125. Current calendar sessions run from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm. Check the selected session and your confirmation email for final times and price, and remain available for the full training and assessment.
When will I receive my certificate and White Card?
You will receive your Statement of Attainment after successful completion on training day. You can immediately work with that statement.
Your NSW Statement of Training can be used for 60 days while SafeWork NSW processes your White Card application. Your RTO submits the application; keep your postal details correct. See the certification section above for the official application guidance.
Can I get RPL for this course?
NOC does not offer recognition of prior learning (RPL) for this White Card course. You must complete the required training and assessment. If you already hold a valid White Card, contact us before booking to check whether you need a new course.
Language, Literacy and Numeracy Requirements
You need a good level of English for NOC’s live Zoom course. Basic or average English is not sufficient for this virtual delivery option. You must be able to follow the trainer’s instructions, discuss safety issues, read the learning material and complete the assessments.
