What identification and USI do I need?
A current photo ID, driver’s licence, passport or proof of age card is all that’s required. Double check it matches your enrolment information before you start. You’ll also need a USI, create one free if this is your first nationally recognised course. Create or find your USI.
What equipment do I need?
Just a laptop or desktop with a stable internet connection, that’s it. RSA is knowledge and scenario-based, not hands-on, so there’s no PPE involved. Since there’s no live session to join, you don’t need a working camera or microphone either.
What certificate will I receive?
You’ll get a Statement of Attainment for SITHFAB021 once you pass, that’s your official RSA certificate to give your employer. Tasmania doesn’t use a card system, that document is all you need.
Will my RSA TAS expire?
Once you’ve got your Tasmanian RSA, it doesn’t expire. There’s no mandatory renewal or refresher course required. That said, if it’s been a while since you last worked in hospitality, it’s worth brushing up on current rules before heading back behind the bar.
Can I use this RSA TAS in other states?
Generally yes. Most other states accept the Statement of Attainment for the national unit, sometimes with a quick registration step.
NSW is the exception, it requires its own full course regardless of where you trained.
What if I need assessment support?
You must successfully complete the required assessments. Contact NOC before enrolling to discuss English, learning or accessibility support, reassessment arrangements and any conditions.
